Our Approach
We start by listening.
Here at Align Ability, building and maintaining relationships is at the core of what we do. Our top priority is investing the time to genuinely get to know you, and in many instances, your family, loved ones and caregivers as well. This enables us to gain a deep understanding of your goals and needs, and ensures we respect your choices while establishing a support team and plan that truly works for you and your life.
Our leadership team will sit down with you, your guardian, support coordinator and any other important people in your life and chat about your exact support needs. We’ll identify where specific training or mentorship may be beneficial to make sure our team is ready to meet your needs. This meeting is your chance to mix and match our support to fit your unique needs and discover what works best for you. We know life changes though, so we’re always ready to adapt and fine-tune your supports as needed.
When it comes to building your support team, we base our selections on your requirements and preferences. Sometimes, support worker experience is key, but it’s not always the most important factor. We also look at personality, interests, age and location to find the best match for you. Importantly, all of your support workers will be provided with the necessary training to work with you and meet your specific needs.
We believe in the power of collaboration. Our approach involves working hand-in-hand with your entire support network, including Allied Health professionals, behaviour support practitioners, psychologists, social workers and medical experts. We recognise that your support worker(s) often spend the most time with you and your loved one, so our approach works best with the whole team aligned. By working together, your support worker(s) are enabled and guided to help you achieve great outcomes and move towards your goals.
Our commitment to you is that we’ll do everything we can to ensure continuity of support. Rostering at AlignAbility is central to our service as we aim to provide long-term, sustainable support with consistency of support workers. We know that finding the right support workers for you can be a challenge, and when you add in the logistics of coordinating a roster things can get tricky quickly! At AlignAbility your Relationship Manager and our Rostering Coordinator are here to handle all the behind-the-scenes logistics, like finding awesome support workers, offering training and mentorship, and coordinating a flexible ongoing roster to make sure you get the steady and consistent support you need.
Our support engagement pathway:
A quick note!
We’re quick on our feet when it comes to arranging supports, and we’ll have you teaming up with your support worker(s) and kicking goals in no time - especially for less complex needs like community access. We can also build teams around complex participants and are able to provide 24/7 support, however, we understand that good things can take time, and we’re committed to getting it right. After all, rushing might compromise the quality and sustainability of your team and services. We know that you and your family situation is one-of-a-kind, and we’re here to ensure the support you receive fits you like a glove.
